Rt. Hon. Dekor is a second-term member repreenting Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Deocratic Party (PDP).
He served briefly as a member in 2015 before the court ruling that replaced him. While in 2019 he re-contested and won the elections. He served as the chairman of the House Committee on Host Communities during this period.
