National Assembly adjourns plenary to June 12

The House of Representatives and the Senate have adjourned plenary sitting until Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in observance of the upcoming Sallah festivities and Democracy Day.

Speaker of the House, Rep. Abbas Tajudeen, announced the adjournment during Wednesday’s plenary, noting that the House, in collaboration with the Senate, will embark on a working vacation beginning immediately after the session.

Despite the break, the speaker clarified that committee activities, including constituency engagements and oversight functions, will continue as scheduled. He added that reports from these assignments will be presented upon resumption of plenary.

Meanwhile, Senate President Godswill Akpabio disclosed that a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives will be held on June 12 to mark Democracy Day.

President Bola Tinubu is expected to attend the joint session.
