Two female members of the House of Representatives engaged in a shouting match over the the constitutionality of state of emergency in Rivers
A brief commotion unfolded on Wednesday in the House of Representatives chamber as two female lawmakers engaged in a shouting match over developments in Rivers State.
Rep. Ebikake Maire Enenimiete (PDP Bayelsa) and Rep. Blessing Amadi (PDP Rivers) engaged in a confrontation over the the constitutionality of state of emergency in Rivers State.

However, other members intervened to separate the two women, preventing the shouting match from escalating further.
The House was already tense and chaotic even before the day’s plenary began, with several members seen engaging in arguments, citing provisions of the 1999 Constitution.
Some members were seen banging on tables, declaring that “nothing will happen,” while others appeared ready for a confrontation over the matter.
Meanwhile, several lawmakers seen were engaging in discussions across the chamber before the commencement of plenary.
Parliament Reports recalls that President Bola Tinubu declared a State of Emergency citing long protracted crisis in Rivers State.
