OrderPaper‘s analysis has revealed the top performers among first-time senators in terms of bill sponsorship. Leading the pack are Senators Daniel Olugbenga representing Ogun East and Asuquo Ekpenyong representing Cross River South, each having sponsored an impressive 13 bills. They are closely followed by Senator Banigo Harry representing Rivers West, who introduced 11 bills.

The performance of the 10th Senate’s first year in office has been meticulously analyzed, with a particular focus on the contributions of newbies. This assessment, part of OrderPaper‘s ongoing commitment to legislative accountability, sheds light on the productivity and impact of the 10th Senate’s newest members.

The current Senate composition reflects a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape. Out of 109 senators, a staggering 68 are newcomers to the upper chamber, representing over 62 percent of the total membership. This influx of fresh voices is expected to bring new perspectives and energy to the legislative process.
