The National Assembly postponed plenary resumption by two weeks
The House of Representatives has postponed its plenary resumption from September 23 to October 7, 2025
The change was conveyed in an internal memo titled “Rescheduling of Resumption Date” and signed on Tuesday by the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Esq.
“With deep regrets, Honourable Members are hereby informed that the resumption of plenary sessions earlier scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2025, has been rescheduled. The new date of resumption is Tuesday, October 7, 2025,” the statement read.
- Members were urged to “kindly take note and make the necessary adjustments to your schedules accordingly.”
Parliament Report recalls that the House began its annual recess on Wednesday, July 23. At the time, the Deputy Speaker, who presided over the closing session, encouraged lawmakers to use the break for constituency work, attend to local issues, and monitor federal projects in their areas.
The annual recess is a regular feature of the National Assembly’s legislative calendar, allowing lawmakers to balance national duties with constituency responsibilities and personal commitments.
