Femi Gbajabiamila, and former APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, were present at Thursday’s plenary to  witness the defection of two New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) lawmakers to the APC.

The two lawmakers from Kano State who defected from NNPP to APC are Rep. Abdulmumin Jibrin representing Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency and Rep. Sagir Koki representing Kano Municipal federal constituency.

The defectors, in their separate letters read by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, cited unresolved crisis and internal divisions within their former party as reasons for their defections to the APC.

Meanwhile, efforts by the minority of the House, Rep. Kingsley Chinda (PDP Rivers), to raise a point of order throughout the reading of the letters was not recognised by Speaker Abbas.
