The House of Representatives has confirmed Oluyede, Shaibu, Abbas and Aneke as the new service chiefs

New Service Chiefs confirmed by Reps

Just like the Senate, the House of Representatives has approved the appointment of the four service chiefs nominated by President Bola Tinubu.

The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the ad-hoc committee on the screening of nominees for appointment as Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs during plenary on Thursday.

Presenting the committee’s report, Chairman Rep. Babajimi Benson (APC Lagos), said all four nominees successfully went through the screening process and were found competent for the roles.

He stated:

That Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede be confirmed as the Chief of Defence Staff of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having successfully undergone the screening process of this Committee.

That Major General Waidi Shaibu be confirmed as the Chief of Army Staff of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having successfully undergone the screening process of this Committee.

That Rear Admiral Idi Abbas be confirmed as the Chief of Naval Staff of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having successfully undergone the screening process of this Committee.

That Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke be confirmed as the Chief of Air Staff of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having successfully undergone the screening process of this Committee.”
