OrderPaper Nigeria has been invited to join the Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) research network as an institutional member

OrderPaper Nigeria, the country’s foremost parliamentary monitoring organisation and public policy think tank, has been invited to join the Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) research network as an institutional member.
The organisation’s Programmes Manager Uko Etuk, who disclosed this via a press release on Monday, said the invitation was conveyed in a formal communication to OrderPaper’s founder and chief executive, Oke Epia, by the Executive Director of EGAP, Daniel Rubenson.
Rubenson said the OrderPaper was selected to add value to the network through “active exchange with a research and practitioner community” and contributions to its activities, including public goods provision and service.
EGAP is an international, invitation-only network of researchers and practitioners committed to advancing evidence-based approaches to improving governance and political institutions worldwide. Its highly competitive membership is designed to promote multidisciplinary, cross-regional collaboration and the exchange of evidence-driven governance ideas and practices.
OrderPaper’s admission into the global network marks a significant milestone in its expanding engagement with international evidence-driven governance communities, particularly in the areas of legislative accountability, public policy, and democratic governance.
As an institutional member, OrderPaper will participate in policy events on behalf of EGAP, contribute to public-facing policy resources, provide substantive feedback on research projects, and serve on relevant EGAP committees.
Reacting to the development, Epia described the invitation as a recognition of OrderPaper’s decade-long commitment to legislative reporting, archiving, accountability, and policy advocacy.
“We are honoured by this invitation and see it as both a global recognition and responsibility,” he said. “Joining EGAP strengthens our commitment to grounding legislative reforms and governance advocacy in rigorous evidence, while also sharing lessons from Nigeria’s democratic and parliamentary experience with a global audience.”
He added that the timing of the invitation was particularly significant, coming amid OrderPaper’s ongoing research on political actors who have served in both the legislative and executive arms of government since the return to democracy in 1999.
“Our membership of EGAP, which comes during our ongoing novel and unprecedented research work on indexing political actors with dual service paths in the legislature and executive arms of government since the Fourth Republic, reinforces OrderPaper’s position as a credible civic actor in governance reform advocacy and evidence-informed policymaking, both within Nigeria and beyond,” Epia stated.
He further noted that the platform would provide opportunities to showcase Nigeria’s governance case studies, including OrderPaper’s Facility for Legislative Executive Exchange (FLEX).
“EGAP provides OrderPaper, and indeed Nigeria, a veritable opportunity to engage global stakeholders on case studies of governance, including our uniquely designed Facility for Legislative Executive Exchange (FLEX), share learning, and receive peer reviews to improve both theory and practice. OrderPaper proudly accepts the invitation to become an institutional member of EGAP,” he said.
OrderPaper Nigeria is an independent parliamentary monitoring organisation and policy think tank with over a decade of experience in research, documentation, and practice on legislative and governance issues. The organisation leverages data and technology to bridge the gap between parliament, policy, and citizens, producing accessible and reliable parliamentary data to support civic engagement and informed decision-making.
The statement revealed that OrderPaper also serves as the lead organisation and secretariat of the Nigerian Network of Parliamentary Monitoring Organisations (NNPMO) and is a recognised civil society partner of the National Assembly. OrderPaper has received institutional support from several international development partners, including the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the MacArthur Foundation, and the defunct United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Its flagship initiatives include the Initiative for Celebrating Outstanding National Statespersons (ICONS), the Facility for Legislative Executive Exchange (FLEX), the Most Valuable Parliamentarian (MVP) Hall of Fame, and the National Assembly Annual Performance Appraisals, which have positioned the organisation as a trusted authority in parliamentary reporting, advocacy, and public policy in Nigeria and beyond.
